Deceased Brethren

The Ashlar Lodge No. 3 Historian recently came across the grave of Jack Cottle (1879-1958) in Bowen Road Cemetery, Nanaimo, B.C.

The grave displays the Masonic Square and Compasses. There is a John Cottle in our Ashlar Lodge No.3 membership lists and we will do some research to determine whether this is the same person.

The grave marker also shows the name of Jack Cottle’s wife, Mary Cottle (1881-1941) along with a five pointed star which could represent membership in the Order of the Eastern Star.

We will do research on Jack Cottle and Mary Cottle as time permits and post what we find.
