John J. Robinson was an amateur historian who developed an interest in Masonic history. His research into Freemasonry led him to join a Masonic lodge.

We recommend John J. Robinson’s A Pilgrim’s Path: Freemasonry and the Religious Right as a very worthwhile refutation of many of the claims and accusations made against Freemasons and Freemasonry. The book focuses on the claims made against Freemasonry by members of the American “religious right” but the anti-Freemasonry statements John J. Robinson details in this book are common to many of Freemasonry’s critics.

John J. Robinson wrote another book called Born In Blood: The Lost Secrets of Freemasonry, which argued that Freemasonry originated from the Knights Templar (see below). Other writers have made similar claims but Freemasonry does not claim any connection(s) to the Knights Templar.

John J. Robinson also wrote Born In Blood: The Lost Secrets of Freemasonry which argues that Freemasonry originated from the Knights Templar following the suppression of the Knights Templar in 1307.

Note that Freemasonry does not claim any connection to the Knights Templar and treats arguments such as those in Born In Blood: The Lost Secrets of Freemasonry as completely theoretical and speculative. We have included John J. Robinson’s Born In Blood: The Lost Secrets of Freemasonry on this page simply for information purposes because readers may come across it on their own through our recommendation of A Pilgrim’s Path: Freemasonry and the Religious Right.

By including Born In Blood: The Lost Secrets of Freemasonry on this page, we are not endorsing the theory the Freemasonry originated with the Knights Templar or attempting to give that theory credibility. We have simply included Born In Blood: The Lost Secrets of Freemasonry on this page for information purposes because we have recommended A Pilgrim’s Path: Freemasonry and the Religious Right.
