687 Albert Street, at the corner of Albert Street and Milton Street near downtown Nanaimo, is now the Superette Grocery store. It was originally built in the early 20 century by Ashlar Lodge No. 3 member James Henry Malpass, who operated a general store in the building until 1946. The original sources give varying sources for the building’s construction date, ranging from 1903 to 1910.
