Our District Deputy Grand Master, R.W.B. Neil Westmacott, has asked that this article by Bro. Art Berry, Secretary of Euclid Lodge No. 158, be circulated to all lodges in District 5:

“How has your membership in Freemasonry impacted your personal life?”

Good afternoon my friends and brothers.  Euclid Lodge No. 158 in Port Alberni British Columbia is working diligently to develop and implement both our long and short rage plans and in that process it has been established by our Worshipful Master, W. Bro. Ralph Rayner that his priority for this year will be membership.  Brother Byron Hoover has been given the mandate to drive the membership committee and he has been busy consulting with several brethren to gather their input and then to finalize his program. He and I met and following our meeting I decided to ask myself a question:

Samuel Drake (1838-1912)- Featured Deceased Member of Ashlar Lodge For May 2017

Each month Ashlar Lodge No. 3 features a Deceased Brother as a way of highlighting Our History and the contributions Freemasons have made to the Nanaimo area.

Our featured Deceased Brother for March 2017 is Samuel Drake (1838-1912) who was  a jailer and sheriff between 1878 and 1910.
